Specialized Program Descriptions...
Pathways to Peace is a solution focused domestic violence treatment program which incorporates both clinical and preventative techniques. The client learns accountability as well as societal boundaries. There is a 26 and 18 week course. Dual Focus is the domestic violence program with related substance abuse issues (26 week). This program
has been researched by two separate departments out of the University of Utah which validate the effectiveness
of the program with reduced recidivism.
Anger Management is an 8 week solution focused course. Clients will develop coping and problem solving skills to improve self control thus reducing explosive episodes.
Visions is a program designed for children traumatized by domestic violence. Group, family and individual treatment is offered. We have several funding sources making this program affordable for all participants.
Responsible Parenting is a skills based group. The curriculum discusses stages of development, discipline vs. punishment, constancy and creative parenting alternatives to strengthen the familial relationship. (8 weeks)
Thinking Errors is a cognitive approach to improve choice selection and positive skill development. (8 hours)
SOS - Solutions over Substances is a 24 week program designed for individuals with drug and alcohol related issues.
Prime for Life State certified program for individuals who make high risk choices. It has interactive participation, prime solutions is based on action and maintenance to achieve long term change, not just compliance. It is the state authorized DUI program with a PRI certified instructor, 2 evenings per week, 4 hours each evening for a total of 16 hours. If you miss a class you are required by regulation to start over.
Some programs are sponsored in full or in part by State of Utah funding i.e. DCFS, DWS, Medicaid, Salt Lake County Substance Abuse Treatment Contract Services, Vocational Rehabilitation and SSI. SCC is on most insurance panels (Collectively on more than 60 insurance panels, and has a sliding fee scale for the uninsured.
